Based on wikipedia, Malaysia is known as Muslim Country with approximately 20.6 million Muslim adherents, or 63.5% of the population. It's easy for Malaysians to get Halal food, however how about halal cosmetics?

What is Halal?

Halal is an Arabic word that translates to 'permissible' in English. In the Quran, the term halal is contrasted with the term haram ('forbidden').

This binary opposition was elaborated into a more complex classification known as "the five decisions": mandatory, recommended, neutral, reprehensible and forbidden.

As an example it does not contain pork, alcohol, meat from forbidden animals or meat from animals which are not forbidden but they weren’t slaughtered in the Islamic manner.

Basically, halal-certified cosmetics require the use of permitted ingredients and a manufacturing system preventing cross-contamination.
